New Shipments

Typically the WSP heat treatment parts for overseas are shipped by standard container vessels. The oversized parts can be placed on flat rack containers. This time, new solutions had to be found to transport the biggest parts ever manufactured at WSP for overseas. This could be achived by RoRo (Roll On / Roll Off) shipment, which is usually used for cars or trucks. WSP receives Award from Stifterverbands for Innovative Research

The Stifterverband has awarded WSP for innovation through research. We are very pleased about this, because we can only offer our customers added value by continuously developing our products. At the same time, WSP also develops and implements individual plant concepts. For these in particular, preliminary tests and investigations are often necessary. Here WSP uses numerical simulations by means of CFD / FEM, but in many cases specific tests are required for further validation.

New WSP plants in production

Despite unprecedented difficult conditions due to the covid pandemic in 2020, three WSP plants have already successfully started production. Especially the plants in China have been challenging due to the travel restrictions. Particularly noteworthy here is the commitment of all employees who have made this possible, despite trips into risk areas, for example. In addition to that the fourth plant has been delivered within time to our customer, but commissioning was postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic situation.

Degreasing, Annealing and Pickling Line

The company Anhui Xinke Copper Co., Ltd. is a well established producer for strips from copper and copper alloys in China. Now a new corporation GuanXi Xinke Copper Co., Ltd. has been established to realize a new production in south of China. For this project, the innovative technology and references of WSP have convinced the customer to place the order about a complete degreasing, annealing and pickling Line (DAP-Line) at WSP.

WSP Floatation Furnace Order

WSP received the order to replace another floatation furnace. The customer operates already multiple degreasing, pickling and annealing lines since early 1990s and did already exchange one of these furnaces to a modern WSP furnace some years ago. This furnace did prove the long-lifetime, low maintenance requirements and especially highest productivity and strip quality. Due to this, the decision was made to also exchange another furnace to a modern WSP furnace.

New WSP Lines 2020

While the general economic situation is characterized by multiple uncertainties, the year 2020 will be very successful for WSP as four WSP furnaces will be taken into operation. Two of these will be replacements within existing lines to increase productivity, product quality and furnace lifetime. The other two are placed in complete new lines exceeding state of the art technology with regards to brushing technology, automation of coilhandling and furnace innovation.

WSP receives order to replace wide strip furnace

WSP received the order to replace another floatation furnace within a continuous annealing line in China. The line, originally not supplied by WSP, is in operation since approx. 2005. The heating section consists of five zones. The installation and comissioning is scheduled for early 2020. The main reasons for the customer to choose WSP have been the advanced technology and reliability of the WSP floatation furnace, but also the experience of WSP with such projects: WSP already exchanged more than 15 furnaces within continuous annealing lines in similar circumstances.

Successful Production Start of a Strip Floatation Furnace

Another Strip Floatation Furnace for non-ferrous metal strip has just started producing with Fujian Zijin Copper Co., Ltd., China. The furnace is designed for operating temperatures up to 900°C. In addition to the Furnace, WSP supplied the finish brushing machines. Their well-proven and patented composite construction (steel housing and polymer concrete) guarantees a significantly higher vibration damping compared to brushing machines with steel frames.

IWCC Technical Seminar 2019: Shanghai & Tongling

The 2019 IWCC Technical Seminar IWCC will be held from 03 March - 08 March in Shanghai and Tongling, China. The seminar will focus on downstream processes in semis fabricating. WSP will present two papers “Design Principles for Continuous Heat Tretment Plants for Copper Alloy Strip - High Temperature Annealing > 850°C” and “Continuous Annealing and Surface Treatment of Very Thin Copper Alloy Strips and Foils”.
