WSP received the order to replace another floatation furnace within a continuous annealing line in China. The line, originally not supplied by WSP, is in operation since approx. 2005. The heating section consists of five zones. The installation and comissioning is scheduled for early 2020. The main reasons for the customer to choose WSP have been the advanced technology and reliability of the WSP floatation furnace, but also the experience of WSP with such projects: WSP already exchanged more than 15 furnaces within continuous annealing lines in similar circumstances.
Another Strip Floatation Furnace for non-ferrous metal strip has just started producing with Fujian Zijin Copper Co., Ltd., China. The furnace is designed for operating temperatures up to 900°C. In addition to the Furnace, WSP supplied the finish brushing machines. Their well-proven and patented composite construction (steel housing and polymer concrete) guarantees a significantly higher vibration damping compared to brushing machines with steel frames.
The 2019 IWCC Technical Seminar IWCC will be held from 03 March - 08 March in Shanghai and Tongling, China. The seminar will focus on downstream processes in semis fabricating. WSP will present two papers “Design Principles for Continuous Heat Tretment Plants for Copper Alloy Strip - High Temperature Annealing > 850°C” and “Continuous Annealing and Surface Treatment of Very Thin Copper Alloy Strips and Foils”.
Chinese Customers Rely on WSP Strip Floatation Furnaces After the economy in China has picked up again, investments are also being made in the non-ferrous metal sector. WSP received three new orders for the supply of strip floatation furnaces for copper and copper-alloy strips. Fuijian ZiJin Copper Co. Ltd. ordered a furnace for strips up to 450 mm. WSP additionally supplies the strip run technology for the furnace as well as the finish brushing machines.
New DAP-Line for Wieland-Werke In 2016, WSP delivered a new strand annealing line for strips of copper and copper alloys for Wieland Metals, Inc.; a producer of semi-finished products based in Wheeling, USA. The plant was handed over and accepted on schedule. The modern annealing line offers the customer new possibilities on the US-market.
